Hustle For Our HOMiES

Here are a couple of reminders: 

1. You can pick up your amazingly stylish Hustle for our HOM(i)ES T-shirt the day of the event and rep it while you run/walk/skip/bunny hop/etc! If you didn't purchase a T-shirt, we will have a limited number of them available for purchase (cash or check only) for $15.
2. There are multiple start times! For example, if you signed up for the 9am-11am slot, you don’t have to be there AT 9am. You can run anytime between 9 and 11! When you arrive at the Novi High School stadium, check in to let us know you’re there and then begin your hustle. There will not be mass starts in order to allow for more social distancing. 
3. We want you to be safe! This means that you should remain socially distanced, stick with your party, and wear your mask! 
4. There is one route at Novi High School. If you signed up to run at any other location, please be sure to arrive at Novi High School and park at the Taft Parking Lot. You will start and end on the football field. The whole course will be marked with green and blue flags. 
5. There will be no water stations on the course, so bring your own water! 
6. We will have a props that you can pose with at the finish line to remember how much fun you had at Hustle for our HOMI(i)ES! 
7. Thank you for supporting our project and helping us raise money to keep our Great Lakes clean. We will see you Saturday.

Hustle for our HOMiES , in addition to the virtual 5k event, has created T-Shirts with a company that supports our green initiative. Our goal with these shirts is to gain traction for our message and purpose. By selling these shirts, we hope to instill the idea of go green in our participants and our community. All the money from the sales of our shirts will also be going to the Alliance for the Great Lakes. Below is a picture of our shirt. (Left: front, Right: back) 

Mission statement: Be a student-led organization that combats the climate crisis while raising overall health and wellness for Novi.

Vision statement: To maintain the beauty and integrity of the Great Lakes while instilling an environmentally conscious culture in our community.

We will be hosting a friendly competition between all the lakes. There will be 5 teams: Team Huron, Team Ontario, Team Michigan, Team Erie, and Team Superior. You can join any of these teams to find out which lake is truly superior! We will be choosing the winning lake based on what team has the fastest average time. 

If you plan on walking the 5K, no problem! You DO NOT need to participate in this competition. It is OPTIONAL. If you chose to walk you can still participate because this 5K is for everyone so don't be afraid to join a team!

If you plan on participating please answer yes to "Would you like to join a group/team" and choose a team when asked "Join an existing group/team" on your registration. Below is a picture of the tab to look for during registration if you plan on running or walking for a team. 

That said, may the best lake win.

Location of course: 24062 Taft Rd, Novi, MI 48375

Time: 9-11AM, 11AM-1PM, 1PM-3PM, 3PM-5PM (please run the time you chose on your registration to ensure maximum social distancing) 

You can run this route or your own the day of the event. Please keep in mind you do not need to memorize this route! There will be people stationed at the route guiding you throughout the course.
