Enjoy running on our cart paths that wind through the tranquility and beautiful mountain views of the Silver Creek golf course. The race may be only 3.1 miles long, but don’t be fooled: The hills with 400 ft gain and loss will make you earn your Thanksgiving feast!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, all proceeds from the run will benefit the Freedom High School Choral Arts Program. This 100% self-funded program has a rich history of providing choral music excellence in Burke County and surrounding areas within the State of North Carolina. Their mission is to reach diverse audiences through informed, artistic performance. Their vision is to provide young people with the skills necessary to have a lifelong experience with singing as well as succeed in society through commitment, teamwork, leadership, self-expression and lasting friendships. The program consists of four choral ensembles, including Concert Choir, Men's Choir, Women's Choir, and Chamber Singers. With your generous support of their program, you become a stakeholder in their mission and vision, thus providing school-age children of all backgrounds with access to a joyful, meaningful and lasting education in music and life skills.
For our DOOR PRIZE RAFFLE we are having a food drive in partnership with BUCM. To participate, bring non-perishable food such as canned beans or fruit (pop top cans please), Vienna sausages or snacks. The more food you bring, the more tickets you get! Tickets will also be available for purchase.
This event will be professionally chip-timed by GateCity Race Timing! Event results will be posted on-site and online in real-time and will be updating as participants cross the finish line. Results will be "official" once the event is over.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each gender and age division as well as to the overall winners, male and female.
The age divisions are as follows: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
Early packet pick-up on Wednesday, November 23, available at 6pm - 7:30pm here at Silver Creek Golf Club. In-person registration will also be available during this time.
Race day packet pick-up and registration starting at 7:30am. You must pick up your packet or register no later than 8:30am on race day.

You won't have any trouble finding your way around the start/finish area, but for those who like to be prepared, here's a map!
Above all else, we are striving to make this event as safe as it can possibly be for all our participants, volunteers, and staff. If you’re feeling unwell (or uncomfortable participating), we want you to be able to stay home and stay safe without feeling like you’re losing out. In order to make that happen, we are offering flexible options so participants can make responsible decisions based on their health.
Here are our options for registered participants who can’t make it to the race:
TRANSFER TO ANOTHER PARTICIPANT: You can transfer your registration to another participant for a $10 fee before November 22nd at midnight. After that date, you can switch your registration to the virtual event.
SWITCH REGISTRATION FROM IN-PERSON TO VIRTUAL: You can transfer your in-person registration to a virtual registration for free at any point before the race.
REFUNDS: Due to the expenses we are incurring this close to the race, we are unfortunately unable to give refunds.
CANCELLATION: If we have to cancel the event for any reason, all ‘in person’ event registrations will automatically be converted to the Virtual event.
