Description

Obatron Fitness is ready to help you conquer winter with our remote and in-person training and support opportunities. Take your pick from our one-on-one remote training options, their in person counterparts, and our newest offering, Goal Getters, featuring a personal, build-it-yourself challenge.

Following is the at-a-glance list of offerings. Each event will have details specific to it, which fully describe the event. Note, early bird pricing may be offered! In those cases, the sooner you sign up, the less you pay. Certain groups may qualify for additional discounts automatically at check-out. Prices listed here are the non-discounted prices. RunSignUp also adds a small charge to cover hosting and processing.

The series runs 3/22/2020 to 4/5/2020 (Three to Six Weeks, Various Prices). 

Remote

Personal Coaching 

Three levels to suit your fitness style, budget, and goals. Coaching Light is for participants who already have their own plan, but who want the support of a coach to keep them accountable. If participants need a plan, but still just a light version of coaching, that's an option, too. Coaching Standard includes an initial consultation, which takes place soon after registration, and a schedule for your goals. Coaching Plus adds to Coaching Standard by offering additional support and communication. Continuation months are available for all three coaching options at a reduced price. 

Start-up Sessions: Coaching Light - $40 with your own plan and $60 if you don't have one; Coaching Standard - $80; Coaching Plus - $100

Continuation Sessions: Coaching Light - $20; Coaching Standard - $40; Coaching Plus - $60

Weekly, online communication and tracking, $20 mini session special.

Continuation Sessions Within Greece (Usually Meet at Greece Canal Park): Coaching Light - $80; Coaching Standard - $120; Coaching Plus - $240

Start-up Sessions Beyond Greece (Charlotte – Port of Rochester/Cobb's Hill/Chili – Memorial Park): Coaching Light - $120 with own plan, $140 if the coach is creating a plan; Coaching Standard - $180; Coaching Plus - $300

Other Training Opportunities

Seasonal indoor series options are available for a wide variety of small group classes held in the instructor's private home studio in Greece. Outdoor small group training for walking for fitness and running related activities, including training for 5K-50K distances, are also available. Both are offered separately through RunSignUp.

There are no refunds for this program. It is possible that a deferral to another program may be worked out on a case by case basis.

Late Additions and Missed Workouts

If you sign up for program events after one starts, there is no reduction in price for missed workouts. There is no rebate or deferral for missed workouts or their equivalent.

Meet the Instructor

Meet the Instructor
All programs are designed and led by Vickey A. Beaver. She is certified by Athletics and Fitness Association of America for Group Exercise Instruction and by Road Runners Club of America as a Running Coach, so you are getting someone who is serious about helping others. Having been an avid walker for years, she got out of the habit of exercising altogether and didn't find her way back to it until mid-2010. Starting with just a couple of miles around a local mall by herself, a year later, she was meeting different friends there and elsewhere five days a week at varying speeds and distances, as they joined her on her training journey to walk the December 2011 Honolulu Marathon. One thing led to another and she has embraced exercise again for very different reasons than when she was first active. Now she enjoys it for how it makes her feel, the community she's become part of, and the short- and long-term health benefits she sees in her health exams and assessments.

Small program size means Vickey gets to know you well enough to learn about your goals and needs. It also means she can easily monitor students to ensure they are performing the exercises as intended.

Vickey is an experienced walker and runner who has learned from first-hand experience the impact of focusing too narrowly on one discipline, so she can relate to a variety of issues and concerns.

It's cost effective. Most offerings come out to just a few dollars a week.

All participants are welcome from people just who are new to exercising, walking, and running to those who've been doing it for years. Nearly all programs can be modified for personal goals and limitations. Some programs have prerequisites, such as being able to walk or run a certain distance without stopping.
