The Run in the Sun is a running road race in San Angelo, Texas consisting of a 1 Mile, 5K, and 8K. It is the RRCA Texas State 8K Championship.

All races may be run or walked: all abilities are welcome! The race will start and finish on E. Concho Ave in front of The Martial Pint and run down Concho Avenue before turning onto Irving and continuing down the river walk in historic San Angelo, TX.

Parking is in the parking lots and street parking in the area. Please avoid parking on the course route.

5K and 1 Mile routes are the same, but turn around earlier.

8K Starts at 7:30AM
5K Starts at 7:35AM
1 Mile Starts at 7:40AM


Finisher medals will be given to all finishers in all races.

No winner awards are given in the 1 Mile Fun Run. This race is untimed.

Awards for top 3 M/F overall in the 5K and 8K will be given in addition to age group awards. Awards will be Top 3 M/F in each age category:

0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100+

As this is the RRCA Texas State 8K Championship, additional RRCA awards will be given in various age categories from the RRCA.
