COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is an open water swim; the current and wave conditions are unpredictable; please use good judgment if you are uncertain about swimming in rough water.
The course is set; however, the race committee reserves the right to change the direction of each event due to water conditions. The details of each event with landmarks are provided in the race map(s). Any questions about the course will be addressed at the pre-race meeting by the Race Referee.
LOCATION
All races will start and finish at the Brigantine 16th Street Beach
PARKING
There is limited parking at the Brigantine 16th Street Beach. Lot parking is by permit only. On street parking is available in the area at no charge.
500yd FLAG SWIM
This is a 500yd swim for swimmers ages 7 – 16. The 500yd swim will have one turn. Athletes will start running into the water at 17th St beach swimming 250yd, turning around at a flag position in the ocean before swimming 250yd to return to the shore.
1 MILE OCEAN SWIM
This is a 1 mile ocean swim for ages 16 & Over. The direction is subject to change at the discretion of the Race Director and the Brigantine Beach Patrol. Athletes will begin in the water, swimming north to the turnaround point and returning.
