Aid Station #1 High Priority

December 11, 2021

This volunteer task is full.

Details

Thank you for volunteering. You will find it rewarding, fun and a great place to interact and draw inspiration from the runners. This is one of the most important jobs in any race. If this is your first time working at an aid station for an ultra marathon it is quite a bit different from a water stop at a shorter race. You will be providing the runners with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, food, etc. The runners need to eat and drink more, and will need a variety of foods to meet their nutrition needs. We will provided you with a wide range of foods and drinks at the aid station to offer the runners. Some of these will need to be prepared by you as you wait for the runners to come through. Your job is also to help motivate them, keep them excited about what they are doing and to do anything you can to help them complete this challenge. Your excitement will be infectious and your assistance greatly appreciated. This aid station will be passed by participants of the 4.25 mile course, half marathon and 50K multiple times. This will be the busiest aid station on the course. Volunteers may also need to help direct participants along the correct course.

Location

Aid Station #1 is located on the South side of Walter Boardman approximately 1/4 mile down the dirt road near the cattle gate and the red loop trail. Volunteers may drive their vehicles to this location. Maps will be provided closer to race day.
