Details

Prior to RaceDay - You may bring your bikes to get to your location, but must wear helmet when in motion and park it during the race.

Parking - Recommend Lots B,C,D,F (see Map)

Dress: Athletic/Cycling

1. Check-In @ Volunteer at Athlete Village to get Shirt/Swag/Food/Flags by no later than 6:30am
2. Meet with Bike Coordinator (Jennie Hanson) @ 7:00am by Transition Area - Mount/Dismount to receive location assignment, meet SAG cyclists, and safety protocols
3. Return flags back to volunteer tent after bike course closes
4. Have fun - make noise and feel free to join us at Irondequoit Brewing Company

Bike Course Marshall's main priority is to provide direction and safety for cyclists during race by blocking intersection, reporting accidents to race leadership/EMT, and keeping spectators a safe distance from the action.

Other priorities include are enforcing racing etiquette/sportsmanship amongst athletes and breaking down the bike course in their area.

Experienced Cyclist Only Please - (will be on Bike during Race with typical riding 40-50 miles) - Athlete Support and Gear, Bike Course Safety, Sweeps Course at end of bike cut-off. Will manage Bike Marshalls

1. 6:30am - Checkin @ Volunteer Tent (Athlete Village) to pick up shirts and food (note parking lots are prob 10-15 walk from Lot D)
2. Run Course Coordinator Meeting with Mike Davio @ 7:00am at Transition Area by Run Out Flags
3. Dress athletic / sneakers - it will be semi-chilly in the morning but warm up quick. (Sunscreen and Hat are your friend)
4. Have Fun - make noise and join us for after party at Irondequoit Brewing Company from 2-4pm

Note: Gators golf carts will shuttle supplies back and forth but the priorities are keeping station ready with water/hydration for athletes (let them pull from the table) and communicate any emergencies situations with Run Course Coordinator

Details

Parking: Recommend parking by water station (Lake Bluff / Culver) but at least one person will need to come to Athlete Village and pick up shirts and radios.

Duties: Supports the athletes by keeping in the run pathways clear, and provides course direction/safety awareness. Reports to Run Course Coordinator and/or EMT in case of emergency.

Details

Arrive at 9am Friday at transition located between Lots A and B (look for flags, can't miss us).

Dress: Athletic dri-fit, hat, tennis shoes (flip flops are no-go, unless you're on the beach) - feel free to bring a swim suit and towel to hop in the water afterwards

2. Verifies ID, USAT Membership
3. Use RaceDay App and "Search by Name / Bib" to locate participant
4. Click on Participant > Click "Check In" button
5. Locate Participant Envelope from file containing Bib & Stickers
6. Explain Sticker placement on Bike, Helmet, Drop Bag
7. Hand them appropriate swim cap & assigned T-Shirt (see size on envelope)
8. Remind them for Saturday Morning - Go to Body Marking first, then Timing Chip pickup second, then Transition area last (open from 5:45am-7:15am)

3. Directs athlete toward Timing Chip tent for pickup first before entering Transition Area

Swim Course Coordinator

Swim Course Marshall - Beach Sweep & Guards High Priority

Details

1. Checkin at Volunteer Tent at 5:15am to receive shirt/swag/food
2. Meets with Simon at the beach (time TBD)

Swim Course Marshall primary purpose is to provide additional swim safety for athletes before/during/after swim start up to transition.

Each volunteer will have one of the following specific duties to appointed by the Swim Course Coordinator on race day.

1. Prepares swim buouys for placement in water (Simon to direct)
2. Count athletes going in/out of swim-start corral prior to race to ensure correct athlete heat placement
2. Directs or leads athletes on swim path down to beach where race begins
3. Beach sweep counter of athletes going in/out of water
4. Keeps pathways clear for athletes headed into transition area
5. For Intermediate distance athletes, assists in redirection for 2nd swim lap

Operation Cookie Drop High Priority

Details

Along with other RATs, go door-to-door to pass out the race info and chocolate chip cookies through the neighborhoods the ROC Tri will impact on for road closures. Chick-fil-a will provide the amazing cookies beforehand and the coordinators will bring the flyers.
