At KONA Running Company, our goal is to deliver a fun, safe, and unforgettable race experience—for every athlete, volunteer, and crew member involved. With more than 25 years of event production experience across 25 states and over 1,300 races, we’re proud of the standards we’ve set and the community we’ve built.

To help ensure that experience stays positive and fair for all, please review our key policies below:

Respect Is Non-Negotiable
We have a zero-tolerance policy for profanity or verbal abuse directed at anyone—especially our volunteers and support crew. These events run on respect, and we expect everyone on the course to treat one another with kindness and professionalism.

Headphone Policy
Headphones are allowed on closed courses, but only in one ear. This is for your safety and the safety of those around you. Being aware of your surroundings is critical on race day.

Refund Policy
We understand that life can be unpredictable. However, we are unable to offer refunds except in the event of a death in the family or military deployment or relocation. This includes cancellations due to weather, emergency situations, or public health events outside of our control. If you’re looking for added protection, we strongly encourage purchasing event insurance during registration.

Transfer Policy
We do allow transfers—under the following conditions:

• Same calendar year only.
• Transfers must be made more than 30 days prior to the event.
• Within 30 days, transfers are only permitted in the event of military deployment or a death in the family, and a $15 processing fee applies.
• You may transfer your registration to another participant in the same event for a $15 fee.
• Deferrals to another year are no longer permitted, except for military or bereavement reasons.
