COURSE DETAILS
The Wicked Halloween Run takes you deep into the shadows of Maybury State Park, where a winding, paved path leads you through dense woods, eerie stillness, and hints of the park’s haunted past. Once home to a psychiatric asylum, this park now lures thousands of runners each year with its spine-tingling charm.
As you make your way up a sneaky incline to the turnaround point, be warned—the descent back to the finish is fast, fun, and filled with tricks and treats. The route creates a swirling out-and-back loop, forming what some say resembles an upside-down lollipop when seen from above.

Race Surface & Path Details
- Primary Surface: Smooth, paved Hike/Bike trail, 8 feet wide and ideal for costumes and cobweb-free running
- Two-Way Traffic: You’ll encounter runners going both directions—stay alert, stay right, and watch for wandering spirits
- Atmosphere: Surrounded by forest, fog, and fall color, with a few spooky surprises along the route
Trail & Race Etiquette
- 🎭 Costumes encouraged—but make sure you can see, breathe, and run safely
- 🚶♀️ Run or walk no more than two across
- 🎃 Be courteous to other runners and parkgoers—it’s Halloween fun, not a horror show
- 🚨 Watch for cones, signage, and sudden ghouls
