Pets are not permitted at this event. We will follow the Cameron Park Zoo's policy to respect the safety of the animals. 

We will open the gates at 5:30 PM. 

Outside food or drinks, other than water, will not be permitted. We will have food trucks on-site with food available for purchase.

No wheel-based recreational items (bikes, scooters, skateboards, etc.) are allowed inside the premises of the Cameron Park Zoo.

Parking is available at several lots — check out the map below for locations. If you park at Heritage Square, a complimentary shuttle service will take you the rest of the way. We recommend giving yourself a little extra travel time the day of the event to account for traffic!

Although this event takes place at the Cameron Park Zoo, the race is organized and hosted by Unbound Now and the Greater Waco Sports Commission. Zoo memberships do not grant free entry to this event. We kindly ask that all attendees either register as a participant or purchase a zoo spectator pass to enter and support the event.

Both 1K and 5K participants will receive a finisher medal, race bib, race T-shirt, and glow gear. To guarantee your correct T-shirt size, you must register by March 16 at 11:59 PM.

Yes! Someone else may pick up your packet for you, as long as they can provide proof of your registration.

Yes, but we recommend you pick up your packet early to avoid the crowd! 

The 5K is a chip-timed event. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age categories: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, and 75 & up.

There is no bag check. You are responsible for all personal belongings for the duration of the event. 

Once you receive your race materials in the mail, you’re free to run your race anytime that works best for you.

Yes! The 5K course will be open from 7:45 to 9:00 PM, with a hard stop at 9:00 PM.

Strollers are welcome! For the safety of all participants, we kindly ask that those with strollers start at the back of the start line.

Yes, participants will be split into five different corrals, including the following:

• Runners 14 & Up

• Joggers

• Joggers/Walkers

• Walkers

• Strollers/Walkers

These corrals are based on your expected pace rather than finish time. For safety reasons, we ask that children under the age of 14 not start in the first corral to ensure the safety of all participants.

A race entry for either the 5K or 1K is required for parents/guardians participating with their child. Parents/guardians registered for the 5K may participate in the 1K with their child if the child is age 10 and under; however, we ask that you do not take a medal during the 1K race. If you are registered for the 5K, please wait to receive your medal until you complete your 5K race later that evening.

Yes, the 1K event will be from 7:00-7:30 PM.

No, this event is a fun run through the zoo and is not competitive.

Strollers are welcome! For the safety of all participants, we kindly ask that those with strollers start at the back of the start line.

You will need to purchase a Spectator Pass, which includes a wristband for entry. This wristband must be worn to gain access to the zoo during the event.

The Spectator Zoo Pass is for individuals who want to attend the event to cheer on participants but are not registered for the 1K or 5K races. This pass is required to enter the zoo and enjoy the event as a spectator.

Spectators are welcome to cheer on their 5K or 1K participants, explore our Zoo experiences before the races, and enjoy a variety of food trucks available onsite.

New this year, we’re offering T-shirt pre-orders for non-participants! Orders must be placed by March 16 at 11:59 PM, as shirts will not be available for purchase after that date.

Please note that all pre-orders must be picked up onsite, as shipping and delivery are not available.
