COURSE SAFETY
RACE DAY WEATHER/CONDITIONS
Charm City Run utilizes the industry standard Event Alert System (EAS) to communicate important information about weather conditions at our races. This system was designed to help participants, course support, and medical personnel plan accordingly for changing safety conditions, particularly around heat and humidity. Colored flags ranging from Green to Black convey expected or current conditions.
The expected EAS level is often communicated in pre-race emails to registrants, so please check your participant email for the latest flag status and information on where to find the flags on race day.
WHEN TO SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION
Stop running and seek medical assistance immediately if you experience:
- Chest pain
- Severe shortness of breath
- Dizziness or fainting
- Confusion or disorientation
- Chills or goosebumps during hot weather
- Nausea or vomiting that prevents hydration
- Any injury that makes it unsafe to continue
