The Lafayette Chamber and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held on a Sunday in October. Due to COVID-19, we will be moving our race to a virtual race, spanning October 16-November 3, 2020.
Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. See below for what we gave back to our schools last year!
The Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. 2020 may look a little different but we are still encouraging participants to compete in the 10k or 5k run or a 2 mile run/walk for fun or, new this year - around the Reservoir! Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents are welcome to join in the fun.
There will be four races: 5k, 10k, and 2mile walk/run along the same route as previous events*; and the 2.7 mile Reservoir Run/Walk along the paved trail of the Lafayette Reservoir**.
Registration for all races is $25. Race packets that include our traditional long sleeve t-shirt and race bib will be available early October.
Support your school. Sign up now! You will be sent a confirmation email with information regarding the Race Joy App we will use to track times and post results.
*The 5k, 10k, and 2mile walk/run course will be marked along the sidewalk on the South side of Mt. Diablo Blvd. Roads will NOT be closed for runners. Please see maps for course.
**Parking and fees are not included in registration price.
