Obatron Productions' exercise arm, Obatron Fitness, is proud to offer the third year of our debut race series, West of the River Series, now with new options! Enter the whole series or choose individual races. Walker and mobility-impaired friendly. Diet sensitive. Virtual or in person. Training available.
Keep scrolling for an overview of options and more information! If you're on a phone, that might take a bit. When you're ready to register, click the grouping for what you want to go only to those options (training, virtual, in-person). Otherwise, click the "Race Info" tab to see all options at once.
Following is a snapshot of information. See each event for specifics like course cutoffs and age requirements.

Virtual Race Dates: Friday, October 28, 12 a.m. through Sunday, November 6, 11:59 p.m.
Shirt cutoffs are June 5, August 21, and October 23, respectively. If you miss the shirt cutoff, you are not guaranteed a shirt. If time and supplies allow, those who miss the shirt may be given a substitute race gift.
Packet Pick-up/Distribution: Packets will be available for 30 minutes, typically 45 minutes through 15 minutes before each race on race day. (Ex. June Jaunt starts at 9:45 a.m. Packets will be available 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.) Look for the red "Check-In" flag onsite. There are no other packet pick-up dates planned. If that changes, a message will go out to registrants. Packets will be sent to virtual participants following the corresponding in person race.
Registration for or upgrading to the whole series should be done before June 19. We may open a special upgrade window before The Potato Run for those who participated in June Jaunt but did not register for the whole series at that time. If you do all three races, but do not register for the series, we cannot guarantee you will get the gift due to administrative logistics of tracking participants.
When you register for the series, you won't be able to pick shirt options for each race, just the size for June Jaunt. When it's closer to the race time, the RD will transfer you to each individual race. Then you'll be able to manage your registration. If you do not manage it, we will pick for you. If you miss the June 5 shirt cutoff, you are not guaranteed a shirt for June Jaunt. If time and supplies allow, those who miss the shirt may be given a substitute race gift.
You might have surmised there is an emphasis on food! I grew up hungry until I could earn money myself to buy food, and while my company, Obatron Fitness, isn't a non-profit, each race will include three charitable components: 1) fundraising drive via registration for each host town's food program for those in need; 2) a food drive for the same organization on race day; and 3) a portion of proceeds after expenses are covered will be donated to the organization.
Training Also Available
See menu for training options. Discount for signing up for both The Potato Run and overlapping Barbecue Bash Quarters training at the time of registration.
Discount Offers & Referrals
Entering the series rather than individual races gets you pricing equal to or less than the total of the individual race fees (depending upon when you register), a lower RunSignUp fee than the sum of the fees when registering separately, and a series gift. The training offered through the series registration page is at a much reduced price including bonus workouts not normally offered with Obatron Fitness group training. If you are a member of GRTC or Obatron Fitness, you get a discount at checkout for that. Additionally, you may earn back some of your registration by having other racers use your personal referral link, generated after you register. See the "Referrals" section for more information.
Awards and Swag
Virtual: We're known for our informal awards due to the nature of virtual events. You are encouraged to enter your time to establish a race history with us and for the fun of it. Besides, you never know what may happen as the series gets underway! There will be race shirts, medals, goodies, and Earned Extras. Plus, the more sponsors and participants we get, the more goodies we can put in your packet.
In Person: The top racer for each gender designation will get some sort of goody for each race. There will be a correlating series prize set. While we have 10-year age groups, unless we get 75+ racers in a given race, no awards are planned for age group winners for any race or series.
We recognize there are those who would rather not pick male or female when asked to choose. There is finally an option to choose male, female, or non-binary. An award for first place finishers in each designation for each in-person race and the in-person series will be bestowed for any designation with at least one finisher.
We will post additional details as they occur. Any changes will be updated here, on the Obatron Fitness Facebook page, in our Facebook group, and communicated through RunSignUp messaging. Please note, as the pandemic has proven, life is unpredictable! It is possible that changes in time and location could occur for reasons beyond our control. Keep an eye on your email for race communications to ensure you know all you need to know about the race(s).
Virtual: Packets will be sent after each of the corresponding in person races, June 19, September 4, and November 6, respectively.
In-Person: Packet pick-up is in person on race day for all races. Packet pick-up will open for 30 minutes; it starts 45 minutes before each race and concludes 15 minutes before each race. If you are early, you're welcome to warm up while we finish setting up.
It is possible we will add packet pick-up the day before each race. We will let you know if that is an option. If you don't see a message about it or an update here, it's safe to assume it's not happening.
