If you would like to run in honor of Star Bryce, you will select his team when registering and your team neck gaiter color is NEON GREEN. Here's Bryce's story.

Bryce was born on November 12, 2006, with no complications. He was a very healthy little boy. In 2012 Bryce kept complaining of headaches. Bryce was referred to Nationwide Children's Hospital (NWC) to see a neurologist. Medication was prescribed which seemed to be working on and off. During Christmas break in 2012 after a family trip, Bryce kept complaining of severe headaches and saying the medication wasn't working. Bryce was taken to NWC that evening and he had to be sedated. After this appointment, Bryce had difficulty waking up. His mother instantly knew something was wrong. The doctor came in and told her that Bryce, her 6-year-old, had a brain tumor that was located on his hypothalamus. January 9th was the worst day a mother can experience. On that day, the neurosurgeon confirmed that the tumor was: Adult Teratoma Brain tumor. Bryce had to be seen by an endocrinologist to make sure his growth and development were okay since the tumor was also near the pituitary gland. At a later date, Bryce had a dizzy spell at school and was taken to the doctor’s office as a precaution. After an MRI, unfortunately, another brain tumor was located. This one is on his Thalamus which is 5x5 millimeters and they also confirmed that the original brain tumor has grown to the size of 13x13 millimeters. We were referred to a pediatric neurosurgeon at the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital who confirmed that at this time these tumors present as noncancerous. Bryce’s brain tumors are monitored every 6 months. He takes medication regularly. Bryce loves being outdoors and especially playing baseball. Register to Run for Bryce and All the Kids!
